Open Doors

Have you ever had a revelation or a word from God explode in you? Yeah…that happened to me this week and I know that it wasn’t just a word for me but a word for many of you reading this.

My husband and I have been doing some projects around our fixer-upper house the last couple of months and one of my favorite things has been to put new flooring down in the bedrooms and hallway. In order to do the floors, we had to take the bedroom doors down and pull out the door frames. We were wanting to replace the doors anyway so we had it timed so that the new doors would arrive when we finished with the flooring. Unfortunately, there has been delay after delay in getting the doors delivered from the factory. The floors have been finished for a couple of weeks now and we still don’t have doors to put in.

My patience running low, I looked down the hallway at the empty doorways and prayed….”God, why don’t we have doors?”

And immediately I heard Him say “Isn’t this what you’ve prayed for? This is what Isaiah 22:22 looks like…this is what it looks like when I open doors that no man can shut. I’m opening doors for you that no man can shut.”

Whoa. I imagined what it must look like when God opens a door….the wind of His Spirit coming through and taking the door off its hinges!

And now, no man can shut it…because there is no more door! The doorway is wide open!

Doors to increase…

Doors to financial peace…

Doors to healing…

Doors to family salvation…

Doors to marriage restoration…

Friend, He is opening doors for you that no man can shut. He is taking the door off its hinges! Our God is going to show Himself strong and mighty on your behalf.

This is our God.

Overwhelmed by His goodness,

-Melissa

In 2004, I became a single mom to 3 kids under the age of 4 and walked through very difficult years of healing from the disappointment and betrayal I felt from a failed marriage. In that process, I learned how to live utterly dependent on God to take care of my little family….financially, emotionally and spiritually. Ten years later, in 2014, God blessed us with an incredible, redemptive gift in a man named Dave who is now a husband and father to our family.
