Speaking and Praying Scriptures launched in January 2025 after I was repeatedly feeling guilting for not doing a good job teaching my kids scripture memory. Despite good intentions and trying various plans, I always struggled with sticking to a plan! One year I had a friend gift me some cute scripture memory cards for my birthday. I knew the best way to start a new habit was to attach it to something else so I started taking these cute cards with me in the car for us to read through each morning on the way to school. I was already praying out loud in the car on the way to school so speaking a few scriptures before we turned on the radio was a simple way for me to add this new, and much needed, rhythm to our morning routine.
Now, each morning we get in the car we speak through our scriptures two times (Reference, Verse, Reference, Verse, Reference), then we pray through those scriptures, and then we turn on our music! This new rhythm is powerful. Why? First, because we are actually doing it! Speaking scripture, without the pressure of memorization, makes the rhythm feel doable (and typically by the end of the month we can all recite them anyway!). But secondly, When we Speak and Pray Scripture we are speaking TRUTH and LIFE, hiding God’s Word in our hearts, and praying with purpose! We’d love to have you join us!
